Stay in the UK for The Olympics

If you dream and you allow yourself to dream you can do anything. That's what this Olympic medal represents.

Quote Mark Clara Hughes, Six-Time Olympic Medalist, Cycling and Speed Skating

The Olympics - Come to Britain!

If you are one of the thousands coming to Britain for the Greatest Sporting Show on Earth - perhaps you would like to extend your visit to take in some of the most beautiful countryside on Earth!

Whether you will be visiting London, Weymouth for the sailing, or any of the other centres where the games will be held, a relaxing break at one of Dorset's most pleasant hotels would be a good way to prepare for the events - or to wind down after all the excitement!

The games will begin with preliminaries on the 25th of July. The Opening Ceremony will be held on the 27th of July and the games will finish with the Closing Ceremony on the 12th of August. The BBC will be screening coverage of the events from about 8.00 am each day until nearly midnight! If you are staying with us during the Games a wide screen TV will be set up in our Wessex Room to cover every moment. We will be pleased to bring food and drink to you in the Wessex Room so that you need not miss any of the action!

If you are staying with us either before the Games or after they have finished, we would be delighted to suggest an itinerary for your stay so that you can make sure that you will see all the very best places in our beautiful countryside.

Our family is particularly keen on all forms of sport. Karenza Mathews, the owner of the hotel, played table tennis for England; she represented her country more than four hundred times and in 1971 and 1972 was Women's Champion of England. In its efforts to re-establish links with the West, China invited a team from England to visit China in 1971. The tour became known as Ping Pong Diplomacy; Karenza was a member of the England Team. Needless to say we would be delighted to see visitors here from China - or from other table tennis playing countries!
