Abbotsbury Swannery
Voted 'Best Family Attraction in Dorset', Abbotsbury Swannery is an ancient and special
site providing protection for hundreds of nesting swans and their
broods. From the end of May, the nests and newly hatched fluffy
cygnets can be viewed at close quarters.
Open 18th March - 27th October,
10am-5pm. Cafe and disabled facilities available. Dogs not allowed
into Swannery. Ample free parking.

Sherborne Castle
Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594,
Sherborne Castle is set in magnificent gardens designed by Capability Brown, and
has been the home of the Digby Family since 1617. The State Rooms
contain a superb collection of fine art, and to the north the ground rises to
the great ruined battlements of Sherborne's first castle, built by the
Normans in the 12th century.

Stourhead Estate
A world famous centre of tranquillity and beauty, the
Stourhead estate covers 2,650 acres. The house is a Palladian mansion
built in the 1720s, which nestles in breathtakingly beautiful 18th
century landscaped gardens, with enchanting temples, monuments, rare trees
and plants, set around a magnificent lake.
